Canvas spirograph
Since I've been working with the canvas element a lot lately, I thought it was a good idea to show some of the demo's I've been working on.

This is my first attempt at developing a Firefox extension. Browseamp remote can be used to remotely control browseamp over a LAN or the internet. Browseamp is a winamp plug-in which normally uses a web/html interface to control winamp functions. Browseamp remote uses XML to load player status and song information and supports most of Browseamps' features.
I've been experimenting with the new canvas element in firefox. Using this new element and some javascript code it's possible to make dynamic images.
For a project of mine I needed a means to compress javascript code. There are numerous programs who do this very well but I thought it would be a fun project to make one myself.
Years ago I installed the Seti@home screensaver. For some reason I abandoned it then, but recently I came across the Boinc client which is used to power several network computing projects and it resparked my intrest in network computing.
This is a summary of the second day of the X-tech conference 2005 with another set of interesting presentations.
I attended the X-tech conference this week here in Amsterdam. To quote the website: "XTech 2005 is the premier European conference for developers and managers working with XML and Web technologies, bringing together the worlds of web development, open source, semantic web and open standards." This is a summary of presentations I saw on the first day.
Last week I bought a Polar F6 heart rate monitor which I use to improve my fitness workout. Just like many mobile phones it's possible to customize the display with monitor icons. Unfortunatly you must use the Polar Uplink tool to make and upload them. I normally use photoshop for bitmap editing and that's why I wrote this little PHP script (using the GD library) to convert PNG images to the Polar Monitor Bitmap(PMB) format.
I came up with some new Firefox and Thunderbird ad banners to fit nicely into the design of this website. Both buttons are transparent PNG-24 images (for the rounded corners). IE users won't notice any difference if used on a light background.
An obivious answer to a simple problem I encountered when developing a firefox extension.
When I was still at college I built my own water rockets and had a little website where I showed my designs. The website is long gone but there are still a couple of sites linking to my old site. That's why I copied all information into this article for people to have as reference.
